Queens & Consorts of 20th Dynasty Egypt: Henutwati and Tawerettenru, Wives of Ramesses V (r. 1148-1144 BC)

Henutwati and Tawerettenru were wives of Pharaoh Ramesses V (r. 1148-1144 BC). Their lineage is unknown.

Their husband, Ramesses V, was the son of Ramesses IV and Duatentopet.

His parents, Ramesses IV (r. 1154-1148 BC) and Duatentopet, were siblings and spouses. Their mother, Tiye, is known from the Judicial Papyrus of Turinharem. She’s said to have enlisted the help of Ramesses III’s (r. 1186-1155 BC) chief of the chamber, a butler, a cattle overseer; the overseer of the harem, and a clerk of the harem. The conspirators succeeded in assassinating Ramesses III.

Ramesses V was succeeded by Ramesses VI (r. 1144-1136 BC), who was then succeeded by Ramesses VII (r. 1136-1129 BC).
