Duatentopet was the daughter of Ramesses III and his wife, Tiye.
Duatentopet’s siblings were Amenherkhepeshef, Ramesses IV, Meryamun, Pareherwenemef, Ramesses VI, Montuherkhopshef, Khaemwaset, Pentawere, Meryatum, and Ramesses VIII.
Her half-brother and husband was Ramesses VI.
Their father, Ramesses III (r. 1186-1155 BC), was the son of Setnakhte’s lineage is unknown. Setnakhte was the founder and first pharaoh of the 20th Dynasty of Egypt.
Duatentopet’s mother, Tiye’s, lineage is unknown.
Duatentopet was the mother of Ramesses V, grandmother of Ramesses VI (r. 1144-1136 BC), great grandmother of Ramesses VII (r. 1136-1129 BC).
Ramesses VI and Duatentopet’s father, Ramesses III, was assassinated by conspirators led by Tiye to establish Pentawer, her son and their brother, on the throne instead of the appointed heir… Ramesses IV.
Tiye is known from the Judicial Papyrus of Turinharem. She’s said to have enlisted the help of Ramesses III’s chief of the chamber, a butler, a cattle overseer; the overseer of the harem, and a clerk of the harem.
Although the conspirators succeeded in assassinating Ramesses III, the attempt to alter the succession ultimately failed.
Early in his reign, Ramesses IV prosecuted those involved in the conspiracy and sought to restore stability.
Ramesses IV (r. 1154-1148 BC) was succeeded by Ramesses V (r. 1148-1144 BC), who was then succeeded by Ramesses VI (r. 1144-1136 BC).
